How do you access the registry from c++?

I need to be able to access and edit registry items from a startup program. I could either use C or C++ it makes no difference. There will only be a displayed bit map while it launches and MS Access application.

Is there any sample code available that access the registry?

Take a look at the ATL class CRegKey. It makes working with the registry a breeze.
