hi experts,

I'm interested in learning how other SQL Server Admins/DBAs access your office servers from home.

Do you use Enterprise Manager over a broadband connection, use a product such as GoToMyPC to access your office desktop (so you can then use Enterprise Manager) or some other trick ?

What are the best and safest ways to check-up on scheduled jobs, server health etc. from home ?

Here's my specs:
home PC is Wind 2000
DSL broadband Internet connection
office PC is XP Pro
servers are Win Server 2000, SQL Server 2000 Std

Thanks. John

Terminal Server. If you set it in admin mode you get 2 free connections. Then just use RDC Remote Desktop from your XP or 2000 box.

I would also recommend your office have a VPN connection set up so you are accessing through that, rather than having your SQL Server hanging out naked on the internet.
