Hi ,

this is the issue -

if i highlight some content on any webpage, and i do a right click,it should be inserted into a specific file.

yeah i could do a copy and paste from webpage into this file, but i was wondering if there is any script that could do it..

i dont even know if perl/php is what i should be using ..i do use activerperl..

i know javascript cannot do file manipulation like writing to a file?

Guide me ..

PHP is server side. It cannot take actions on client side events. Only a combination of client side code with POST/GET or a JavaScript RPC could achieve that. However, the server which runs PHP can only write to the filesystem if it is on the same machine as the PHP server.

Great thanks ..well i am not much of a javascript coder.. could u give me couple of guidelines on how to approach this issue.

My best advice would be to post your question with the Kavascript experts in forum-216
