I am having lots of problems with running IE 5.5 under Windows Me --- mainly page freezing after filling in the text box. I have tried every means to uninstall and reinstall IE 5.5, but in vain: IE 5.5 restoration, going-back to IE 5.0, removing IE 5.5 files, et cetera, et cetera --- nothing worked.
Someone please help me on this problem. How will I be able to uninstall IE 5.5 and run IE5.5 setup program?

go to the choose the System updates, then "show installed updates".
Select IE5.5 and start the download.
This will give you a different unique user number from MS, and allow a complete new download/install.
I suggest you hit the "Advanced" button, and save the whole thing to your hard drive somewhere, then install at your leisure. Rerunning the install will start it all over again, and you can choose to "reinstall all components".
Go back to windowsupdate, and get all the recommended updates. Cheers,

Hi you all!!!
I need some help please to get rid of the @ home string from the registry for IE 5.5, because it took over when I installed rogers@home high speed connection. This way the old proxy settings are always load up eventhough I had to uninstall all @home programs, now that rogers changed. The uninstallation should have taken care of that but I still have that little sucker red @ claiming my IE.
Rogers refused to guide me to go into the registry, but hey say they are aware of the problem, and suggested go to a service.
Tried to install IE 6 over it, but it was not working properly, and 5.5 came back automatically.
Thanks
