Hello,
(simple Question alert)
We have a user that is about to move desk. This user is currently set up with a DN and a TN. The desk he is moving to has a phone but no TN assigned to it. I would like to remove the TN from his current phone so that I can assign it at his new desk. The problem is that when I reboot the phone to delete the TN it wont allow me to delete it and so I cannot unassign the TN from the phone.

how do you do it?

thanks :)

are you getting an error code after u try to delete the TN,,,

post more info on what is happening

Hi,

Would it be easier to swap this over at the patch panel - this is what i usually end up doing for phone moves.

Cheers

Stuart

thanks for the responses.

just to be clear I am talking about doing this purely from the handset. I can delete the TN fine and I could swap the patch panel. I am effectively asking if I remove a TN from a handset. Maybe a factory default setting would do the trick as we want to assign the TN from the phone so that we can un-assign the TN on the new phone and leave the old one unassigned.
Thanks

you may indeed :)
It is and it is an 1120e
thanks

If its an IP phone, you can do 1 of 2 things.

*** I am assuming, his old & new phone are both 1120E .

1. When he moves desks, just take his current IP phone with him and plug in at his new desk. (easiest)

2. Reboot his old phone, when it gets to the Node/TN page on boot, hit the clear or backspace button, remove the node & TN information from his old phone. Then reboot his new phone, input his node & TN info in the new phone. voila!! user is moved.
