How do I turn off Outlook Express Auto Start

Hello

Every time my internet explorer opens up Outlook Express opens as my mail application.

How do I stop this?

It only happens when I first connect to the internet.

Any help gratefully accepted

In internet explorer, go into tools-internet options, programmes and change the default mail editor from outlook express.

Tried this, I've gone into tools, internet options, programmes but the email is set to Microsoft Outlook. Which is what it really should be. I would expect it to say Outlook Express as that is what pops up every time I connect to the internet.

I don't want a mail application to pop up when I connect but if I have to I would like Outlook.

As it appears its set up for Outlook already but brings up Express any ideas?

open RegEdit and look at the key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command

Put in the executable for your e-mail app with full path, e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\outlook.exe

Backup your Registry first…

You may want to change BigJohnD's suggestion to "C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE" -c IPM.Note /m "%1" so that outlook opens normally.
