How do I trim the first x characters from a string?

I have a column containing a string of charactes that includes project code and project name.
If I create a new column, what formula can I use to trim the first 8 characters from this?

What about ..

[blue][tt] =RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-8)[/tt][/blue]
