Howdy yall,

Trying to get some help with installing a new T1 ISDN line to our Definity G3 v.12

I believe I've installed/configured trunk (PRI) and signalling group correctly, but when I "status trunk 1", it comes back out-of-service-NE. What does that mean? More importantly, what is the right way to test my end of circuit? Busy the trunk or signalling group, then test DS1? Which commands?

Circuit card TN464HP HW002 FW0018. Trunks were configured and signalling group created on last port 01A1524.

Obviously a newb,so any help is greatly appreciated.

Focus on getting signal group in service. What does DS1 config look like? Here is one of mine. Try a number of protocol verisions. Are you using integrated CSU?

Location: 01A14 Name: MCI ISDN
Bit Rate: 1.544 Line Coding: b8zs
Line Compensation: 1 Framing Mode: esf
Signaling Mode: isdn-pri
Connect: network
TN-C7 Long Timers? n Country Protocol: 1
Interworking Message: PROGress Protocol Version: a
Interface Companding: mulaw CRC? n
Idle Code: 11111111
DCP/Analog Bearer Capability: speech

T303 Timer(sec): 4

Slip Detection? n Near-end CSU Type: integrated

Set "Trunk Group for Channel Selection:" to your trunk group.

My DS1 config looks like exactly like yours except "SLIP DETECTION" is set to yes and my DCP/Analog Bearer Capability: 3.1Khz. Yes, I'm using an integrated CSU.

Just changed Trunk Group for Channel Selection to my trunk group. Same result...OOS-NE

So is it possible to bring the Signal group in-service with a loopback jack? How do you normally bring a sig group back up? "release port xxxxxx?

Is your clocking set up correctly? I think the command is change sync ??? If your programming is correct, you should be able to put a loop back on your RJ45 connection and satisfy the TN464, in other words, all alarms should clear!! Good luck.

Don't know if it's setup correctly, but typed "change sync" and something like the following came up:

STRATUM: 4

Primary: 01A16 Secondary 01B18

CIRCUIT PACKS AVAILABLE FOR SYNC
LOCATION TYPE NAME SYNC
01A15 DS1 DSN Y

Should my new DS1 be a primary or secondary?

thanks!

Trunk still OOS-NE and Sig Group still not coming up with loopback jack connected at the CSU. Tested board and all test passed.

I've busied, tested and released (results passed), but still OOS-NE.

- Focus on signal group and d-channel. Trunks will not work until you get the signal group in service.

- Call the carrier and work on the signal group. Try changing the protocol version to B.

Thanks telecomturner!

Should the signal group come up and show "in-service" on my loopback jack before I call provider?
