How do I swap two analogue extensions?

Is it possible to swap two analogue (type 500) extensions using the terminal program?
I have done a search but seemed to only bring up options for digital extensions etc.

I have done them before at the phones themselves using a key pad sequence but it is tedious, especially when the phones are in seperate buildings!

The handsets are basic BT ones.

Can you do a cpy of each to unused TNs, out the original phones so their TNs are now available and then cpy them to each other's original TNs?

Possibly, but I am very much new to supporting the system.
So, I know what a TN is, but how do I know or find out if there are any spare ones?

Then what LD and specific commands do I need to copy the numbers etc?

Sorry if I sound dumb but I have had to jump in the deep end on this and know next to nothing at the moment - though learning slowly!

Then do a DNB on the 2 sets you want to move, and get the TN's.

Then in LD 20,

Make sure you write down the TNs of the 2 you want to move, and put the unused TN at the bottom of the list, so it would look like this.....

004 0 12 01 DN 1234
004 0 12 02 DN 5678
004 0 12 03 Unused TN

so first you would move 4 0 12 2 to 4 0 12 3
then you would move 4 0 12 1 to 4 0 12 2
finally you would move 4 0 12 3 to 4 0 12 1

follow me?

Either that or if you are not fimilar with the programming yet. Find the TN's and swap them on your wiring backboard.

if all the programming is the same just change the DN's

got to agree with phone dude... usually just do an echg on the dn..

that swaps a a with b b if x x is a vacant dn.. jumpers can be faster.. some of ours are way faster to do the soft moves..

I still say it's quicker to swap tn's! Especially when it's a newbie!! You do the easy change, you gotta reprogram names, and chances are it'll be mispelled yada yada yada....

you can bypass the name repair if you put both ext on an digital set before you do the echg.. if it keeps me from having to get up, it's usually the way i work

Make life easy, mov the 1st 500 TN to a spare TN and then mov the 2 nd 500 to the 1st TN and the mov the 1st 500 TN to the 2nd TN.


ie
Move A to B (spare TN)
Move c to A
Move b to C

Dn's are now swapped and none of the programming need to be touched.

we think alike ace.. and you didn't have to get up.. a lot of my moves are between buildings, jumpers are not an option.. mov command gets to be a habit

no andrew that is the command, try luu, that list the data ports as well but either should work, what rls is your box

I believe from speaking to a BT Engineer recently oour Option 11 is Release 18 no patches.
