Within the group policy section of AD is there a setting to stop users creating shortcuts. This is a major problem foe me at the moment.

Cheers.

Shortcuts have a .lnk extension. You could delet them at startup with a logon script.

You might be able to disable them in the registry.

or create a mandatory profile
when the user logs on again, the mandatory profile will overwrite the user profile... so they can do anything they want, it will be overwritten again... ---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work

Cheers for that,

What script would do this best?

just plain policy & profile settings
