How do I stop a printer from being autocreated? 1

I'm new to Citrix and I have a pretty frustration problem. I'm running Citrix Metaframe XP on Windows Server 2k3 pro. There is an HP Laserjet 6L attached to a client workstation. In order for it to print correctly, print optimization must be disabled. Since autocreation reverts back to default settings and forces the autocreated printer to be the default, it's causing a problem. I shared the printer on the main machine and installed it fine, but the autocreated version always takes over as the default. I can still print using the non-autocreated option, but I would like to get rid of autocreation on this particular machine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Eric

Will have a look but I think it can be done on the client

Eric,

You cannot disable printer autocreation by client machine. You can disable it on a Citrix Server or on a per user basis.

To disable it for a Citrix server - go to Citrix Connection Configuration - edit the ICA-TCP settings - client settings - either disable Windows Client Printer Mapping or remove the tick in "Connect Client Printers at Logon" to stop them being mapped automatically.

To disable it for one specific user - the server must be set to "Inherit User Config" on the connection settings. Then go to AD Users and Computers, Open the user Properties, go to the Environment tab, and remove the tick from "Connect client printers at logon".

Hope this helps.
