hi, i have a windows 2k3 server, and about 50 winxp clients. We use group policies to lock everything down. When i log in as administrator and right-click the taskbar, i can enable the Quicklaunch icon (or show desktop icon, as some call it). When my users log-in this setting is not there. Does anybody know of a policy setting, or registry setting that will make this 'show desktop' icon stick for all users.
thanks, try and have a good day everyone

If you are unable to find it you can always go about doing things the manual way by pressing the "windows key" + D this will accomplish the same thing.

you can also create a new "SHOW DESKTOP" icon

Open notepad and paste the following:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the file as "Show Desktop.scf" without the quotes.

Place on the desktop.

thanks again, try and have a good day.

The actual Icon is located under C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
