I am working with Dreamweaver 6

Please not I have worked with dreamweaver and other website developer software. However with dreamweaver this has been to work on the site from the biginning so thus it allowed me to define the home page etc and thus automically showed a site map etc.

How do I open an exisiting website in dreamweaver.

For example I have a set of html pages in a folder called mywebsitefolder, examples of pages are mywebsite1.html mywebsite2.html ... I want all this files to show up in say a explorer type windows as like windows tree structure or alternatively show as in a site map where I need to define the home page.

Please let me know thank you.

Define the site. Site>New Site... and choose that folder location in the browse. It will check and you can go from there. You can always edit after viewing the home page definition. Hope I'm understanding what you are trying to do.
