I am attempting to configure external MOH source for vMCD 5.0. Documentation states I can use SIP, IP Trunking or a MCD set as gateway. I have an MXe III controller set as a gateway and have both controllers networked. I just cant find the steps to configure external MOH for vMCD using MXe III controller.
Any guidance is appreciated.

Don't think you can use another controller for MOH other then if the call came through that controller, then when it was put on hold it would use the MOH of that controller.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

There is a cos option on whether to use a local moh or not. The vMCD would not and the gateway should, this should provide moh for both inbound and outbound calls that flow thru the gateway

Thanx kwbMitel, pardon me for the following dubm question.
Does the COS option need to be enabled in vMCD? Is that all that is required besides creating the external MOH source on the gateway?

in the COS of the the trunks on the vMCD set the COS option Local MOH to No

In the COS of the trunks on the Gateway side, set the COS option to Yes

A solution for a third-party HARDWARE music source (i.e. radio, MP3 player...) will be addressed in future versions of vMCD. It will not require CX(i)/MXe controllers.
