I have a NETGEAR FVS318 and am trying to figure out how to set up an inbound VPN so I can access my home network when I'm out on the road, at a hotel, my office, etc. I have a cable modem with a dynamically assigned IP address and the NETGEAR FVS318 as the firewall. Everywhere I look for help with this shows how to configure a VPN FROM the NETGEAR FVS318 to everything else, but not an inbound PC to gateway VPN. Can someone please help me?

The document from the following link describes how to do this.
In your case the 'main office LAN'-from the document, will be your home network.
Where the document refers to 'home network', this will be your travelling laptop.

Its 'easier'* if you use XP rather than W2K.

*see "NetGear FVS318 VPN to remote W2K client using IPSEC" thread!
