Is it possible, in Illustrator 10, to select an area of an image, such as a object or a character, and put it into another different image. If its possible, what interesting effects can i create to help the image i copied blend into the picture better? Such as taking a green car from one picture, putting it into an image with a black car and predominately black background, and blending the colors into each other so they clash more fluidly?

These cars you are referring to - are they raster images? Then why do you think Illustrator - a vector program - will be able to do what you want? You would be far better attempting this in Photoshop.

exactly, this job for Photoshop, but if you are really willing to do it in Illustrator, you can use the blending modes in transparency palette to convey some effects.

[flush3] ...don't take it too seriously

Moving a selection from one image and putting it into a different image can be done in a couple of ways: a)Simply copy the selection to clipboard and paste into the other image. (b)If both images are open, simply drag and drop the image from one to the other. To blend the colors, select both objects then from the Object Menu, choose blend then choose blend options and select smooth color or specified steps. Then from the Object menu, choose blend make.
