how do i save gradients, patterns, etc that i install

i use photoshop 7.0.
i have been installing gradients, patterns, custom shapes that i get off the web.
that part is fine.
however, when i close the program and open it again they're gone and i have to install them again.
how do i save them so they'll still be there when i reopen the program after closing it.

Click the little black triangel in top corner of the custom shape/gradient swatch etc palette, and use the save option. If they are not there next time, go to same place and load them.
