I have an application called WallWatcher that logs the traffic on my router but the application needs to be running to log the traffic (router does not cache it).

To cover for a reboot situation I have WallWatcher in the startup folder on my account and have that account set for autologin at reboot. This provided for a security risk, though, for all you have to do to get on the computer is reboot.

Is there a better way to do this?

Check out www.firedaemon.com for a great utility that lets you run an app as a service. More info at the web page... Hope this helps solve your dilemma.

Cheers!
