Can anyone help I am trying to download Mac OS X 10.2.2 update but my telephone connection drops and at the ost only has 2 hours when I have to reconnect. [not on DSL or Broadband yet]
The download is about 26 mb so on my supposed 56k modem will take longer than 2 ours. I have tried three times I thought it would pick up from cut off point but it hasnt.
Help please

Check out versiontracker.com. They should list one or two freeware/shareware download utilities.

You may want to download outside of the Mac's software update application. I don't think it allows for resuming. ...which is weird.

Look for the update on the Apple site and download it from there. If your connection closes you can resume the download in your browser. In Internet Explorer you do this by double clicking in the downloadmanager on the file you were downloading. The window that appears will allow you to resume the download.
This should work in OS X and OS 9.

NO, explorer doesn't allow you to resume download, the best option is to get a test version of speed download, it's fast and resumeable

Hi thanks for the repliues, I didnt think Explorer allowed me resume as I have tried.
Thanks I will try the other options.

You can download system updates from the 'software update' icon found in your preferences window - - or - - directly from the apple.com web site.

If you download from you can use a download manager outside of the Mac's software update application.

Apple might have updated 'Software Update' ( to allow for resuming but I encountered some broken downloads with it on my 10.1.5 installation.
