My machine is Intel Core i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 8,0GB RAM, MS Windows 7 Home Premium v. 6.1 64-bit SP1
Intel HD Graphics and RealTek High Definintion Audio on Motherboard MSI B75MA-P45
I have Windows Defender as Anti-virus with Google Talk, and Skype running in the background.

I cannot get "Backup and Restore to complete the operation. It starts okay
redir

but collapses with a simple message that it has not completed.

It creates files in my external hard drive but does not copy any data to them.

How can I repair it or overload a new copy?

Thanks

What does it say in your Event Viewer?
Have you tried cleaning out the temp files with CCleaner BEFORE you run the backup.
I found that I got a "backup incomplete" or "backup failed" - can't remember which until I deleted all the files/folders under the following folder and then tried the backup: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0

I am afraid I have given up. It seems insoluble.

Microsoft Support say they can fix it, but I have to pay them for what they call on-line support. In Australia it is illegal to sell a product and then demand money to repair some part of it which is faulty. Anywhere, I should think, it would be immoral! But that's Microsoft's line. [flame]

So, I have shut Backup and Restore out of Small Business Advantage and gone back to using Memeo Backup Pro. At least I get tech support from the Memeo people! [flush]

You know, with computers, defining something as "faulty" and who is at fault is a little bit tricky. Out of the box, it worked just fine, so it could have been any number of things caused by YOU or software installs or malware or other factors that led to it not working. So, what I'm trying to say is that a computer is like a banana. The longer it sits around, the worse it looks in general - entropy.
