I upgraded msn messenger to 7.0. I diabled it at start up.
But... for some reason the older version is still on there and I'll get an instant message on the old version- but it doesn't say I'm online! How do I remove the old version. It doesn't say it's there in add/remove software.
thanks in advance

open up a run box and past this in it.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove"

Okay, but I want to remove the old messenger not the new. When I log off I want to stay off. It seems like I"m still on with the earlier version but don't know it.

The easiest way might just be to remove all versions of Messenger then re-install the correct one.

When I intstalled 7 in did unistall it(supposedly).
And the control panel doesn't say the earlier version is there.
So, where do I go manually to find it?

Hi it should of been in Add/Remove if was not then the only way to do it now is, remove all traces of msn in programs add/remove, go to search and type in msn, remove all traces of it, then go to msn website and download the toolbar and the new messnger 7.0
