Hi.
When we migrated from NT to SBS2003, the tech moved TS (licensing and services) from our CITRIX server and onto a member server, which he then made into a DC. I guess he didn't know how to configure TS in SBS2003.
I moved TS licensing back to the CITRIX server and TS to the SBS2003 DC.
During the process I was required to restart the secondary DC, and my last task was to run DCPROMO and demote it.

The darned thing never restarted. It's main HD fried. Talk about timing!

All I want is to stop the DC from trying to replicate to a DC that is never coming back online. Is there a way?

Thanks!

I used the instructions found here, it looks like option 1 in the article you posted.

Basically, you install TS on the SBS DC, and Licensing on either W2K server, or Server 2003, whichever you have licenses for.

And thanks for the link, I'll give it a try in the next few days!

TS should never be used on an SBS box. Serious security concerns there. That's why you typically can't install it on an SBS box.

Oops, I got it backwards. TS is on the W2K machine, licensing is on the DC. (left handed, sorry!) :)

Actually, Microsoft doesn't recommend that TS run on SBS 2003 because the two will fight for resources, degrading the performance of both. You may be thinking of a W2K domain, where multiple DC's share a security DB.

Thanks, Mark! That did the trick. It looked daunting, but was rather straightforward. I appreciate it!
