How do I program GrpCoverage on an extension?

I am a computer guy who has gotten roped into doing simple changes to our Merline Legend (R7?) PBX at our office that one of the partners got off eBay. I was recently assigned to reprogram some buttons so users could see who was on the line more easily. I programmed these buttons, but removed what was already on those phones in the process for a certain button. Whoops.

Those buttons said either GrpCover (or something like that) -I 640 or PriCover -I 640 IIRC. That apparently is our overflow group so that if the front desk phone doesn't pick up, some others do.

How can I reprogram these extensions to have this button/feature again? I didn't see the option when I did the Feature,0,0 programming on the actual phone. I seem to recall some way to do this from the huge mega phone at the front desk (MLX-20L). We dont have WinSPM, but I could get that if necessary, I saw the link on this site when I was searching for this answer.

Thanks,
Sebastian

Thanks for your reply.

Even if I restore the phones back to their previous config, I'd still want to move this command to a different button on the phone anyhow. Do I have to use WinSPM to program this button, or can I program it from the MLX-20D?

Thanks,
S

If you have been saddled with maintaining this system, you need to get the manuals from support.avaya.com

To put a Primary Coverage button on a phone, it's Feature 00, press the button, dial *40, dial the extension number you want to cover, press the "enter" button on the display, then finally Feature *00 to exit.

I did order the manuals on CD, so I'm anxiously (?) waiting for them to arrive.

Thanks, thats exactly what I need. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Looks like they are free online... Thanks again
