Hi,

I have just had a former employee's job dumped on me today, and I need some help. I have a mail merged document, which the former employee created, that contains 85 membership renewal letters with the names and addresses. I printed the letters in one easy process. I now need to print the 85 addresses on envelopes. I have tried to figure out how to print all of the address using the existing membership letter documents, but I have been unable to print them. The first one will print, but that's it. I would really appreciate some detailed instructions on how to print the envelopes without have to print each one individually.

Thanks,

Elizbeth

Hi,

What do you mean bym "The first one will print, but that's it."

Are you referring to PRINTING or GENERATING the Pages for each envelope?

When you perform the merge, you should get a "document" that consists of a page for each address, formatted to "fit" the envelope that you chose in the setup.

Hi SkipVought,

What I have is a merged document that contains 85 letters each on a separate page. The letters contain the address of each individual that the letter is to be mailed to. I was hoping to be able to generate/produce the printed envelopes for each of the existing letters. Is there a way to use the letters to generate the addressed envelopes, and not have to print them individually? Do I need to use the original name & address database to generate the addressed envelopes?

We were trying to see if we could get Word to print the addresses on envelopes from the merged letters file, but only the address from the first letter would print.

The person who usually did this job left the company suddenly on not-so-good terms, and we have not been able, so far, to find the database file.

I hope this helps to clarify my question.

I can't use labels, and that still doesn't answer the question on how to go about generating the addresses whether on labels or printed directly on envelope.

Create a letter template including the return address and ad the fields for the name, address, chite, zip, etc. Then run the merge from the original name/address database that created the mailmerge letter.

But the really easy way to do this is to use envelopes with address windows: then you only need to do the one run.

You generate the envelopes with a similar process as the letter. You just choose a different document size (#10 envelope size rather than 8 1/2 x 11 for instance)
