I am running Exchange 2000 on a seperate box than the Active directory. If someone wanted to email GeorgeBush@mydomain.com how can I prevent that. We have several employees who have left the company and they keep getting emails. Where in Exchange can I turn these off so the people sending these emails get a non-deliverable or something. I thought for sure Exchange 5.5 had this feature but can not find it in 2000. Anyone know what I am talking about? I had a copy of exchange dudes look at it and they said they didn't know what I meant.

I guess I didn't make myself clear. If you were to email your name at my domain I would get it. Well the administrator would get it. I don't have a georgebush smtp address in my domain. Also anyone who has left the company no longer is in active directory with thier smtp address. Why does the Adminstrator except anything@mydomain.com? Isn't there a way to restrict this?

disable their AD account, then run the Cleanup Agent on the mailboxes, and they will show Disabled. Then when someone tried to email them, you will see an event ID 9548 in the app log stating that tere is not an active SID for that user in AD, and the mail should be NDRed
