I have a graph in which I need to show only the top 20 values. I know I can do top n sorting but that effects the entire report. I only want my bar graph showing the top 20 values, and the rest of the page showing all values. David Lee

I am assumming your report has groupings, and you want the top 20 groups, not individual records. If this is the case then use the Top-N expert and define your N as 20 and exclude others.

If you truly want the top 20 records, then use conditional supression to suppress recrdcount>20 and use a running total field to total the 20 values.

Tyen make your graph off of either set of data. Software Support for Sage Mas90, Macola, Crystal Reports, Goldmine and MS Office

Yes, I'm looking for the top 20 groups, not individual records.
My report has all details suppressed but the group headers
contain the group title and number of records in the group.
So initially, what you see on the report is the bar graph and
the listing of group headers. I want all group headers showing on the initial page.
If I use Top-N expert to select 20 groups, both the bar graph
and the listing of group headers will show only the top 20 groups.
Is there a way to just show 20 groups on the bar graph but show all groups? David Lee

I think I figured out how to solve this issue.
I have to test this but this is what I did.
I just chose the zoom in cursor and zoomed in on my bar graph until only 20 bars showed on the graph.
This way, I still get to show all groups on the same page. David Lee

If you are using v8.x, there is a TopN feature within the Chart. You have to use an advanced chart, and you lose the ability to do a drill down on the chart, but it will not affect the rest of the report. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
