Does anyone know what to teweak so that on startup the cursor does not appear dead centre of screen?

Don't know if this will work but go to Control Panel, Mouse, and on the Mouse Properties window, Motion tab, and be sure the Snap to default box is unchecked.

Good idea, thanks. But unfortunately it already is unchecked.
Next ??!!

No prob:
I have the Extigy sound card. It has a start-up splash-screen video. I bastardised it so that now in place of theirs it plays a short movie of mine on startup, but it's centre screen and has the bloody cursor slap-bang in the middle of it!
No-one else replied to my postings, so I guess it's a tough one to solve.
Steve.
