Hi,
I have a system running IPO 8.0, using IP Phones.

My Set has been assigned a DID..

How do I make my DID ring this Set regardless of who is logged in?

For example, I have a sales person hot desking at the Reception desk.
When this person has logged in, the Reception line doesn't ring anymore.

Thanks!

The trick would be to route the DDI to a huntgroup with extns in it, and not a single user. pretty straight forward stuff.

@hairlesssupportmonkey: I know I can do that, but I don't want the sales person phone to ring when they are off premise.

Is it possible to assign the incoming call route DDI to the Port ID of the extension so that it will always ring regardless who is signed in?

Maybe with a shortcode but i never tried that to be honest.
But this is more solving a problem that should not be there.
Let them login and logout in to the group.
If they fail doing that then sack them!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Can be done by usig "dial physical extn" shortcode or similar, but it is a silly scenario that could be avoided :)

The shortcode option works fine but dial by extension number is better.

I know.
There are two shortcode actions: DialByPhysicalID and DialByExtensionNumber.
So create a shortcode like SC = *99, TN = 309, Action = DialByExtensionNumber, LineID = 0
Assuming the receptionists telephonenumber = 309 and the physical extension also has 309.

Route the DID first to 309 and set the fallback to *99.
If the receptionist is logged in the first code is used, if the receptionist is logged off or on DND AND no diversions have been programmed then the extension will ring via the fallback destination.

I was to lazy to explain in my first reaction.

PS DialByPhisicalID only works on US locale and the world is bigger that that [bigsmile] and I am happy for that
