Can anyone tell me how I can make a Windows Me Startup Disc on a CD-R or CD-RW rather than a floppy.

How about first making a bootdisk on diskette and then copying the full contents of the diskette to a cd ?
Make sure you have the option "show hidden and system files" enabled. This can be found under folder options.

Thanks. I tried to copy an existing Windows Me startup bootdisk with hidden and system files enabled. It all looked good on the CD, but unfortunately the disk didn't boot. You are on the right lines but, there must be something I was not doing quite right.

Thanks also. What a great site! Too much for me to take in in one go, but I did see the pointer to using a feature in Nero which produces a boot disk from an existing boot floppy. This is similar to the solution provided by Kocky, but must automatically include that little extra I needed.
Worked well and booted perfectly.

Thanks again to both of you
Regards
Dennis
