We lock users of our 95 systems here out of internet usage by thier IP address. It did not take them long to figure out if they change thier address they could get it. So not it is a cat and mouse game. Is there something or a program I can put on the 95 machine to make them unable to change the IP address?

I'm sure there are programs out there that will exactly what you want. Unfortunatly I dont know of them but for the short term you could always remove there browser software. That solution worked well here for a problem user :)

If you want the admin headache you can implement user/group policies to restrict users from any aspect of their computer.

I think that just uninstalling all Internet software would be your best bet.

I have a firewall, probably well known by now, called Zonealarm that has an option to block Internet access. If you had this program running in the tray, it would block out user access without deleting lots of files. Just make sure they can't turn of Zonealarm.

There are office internet solutions that can do this. I deal with a customer that has internet access tied into the network login. Others lock the network login to the MAC address of the users network card and thus PC. Sounds like you want to investigate the implimentation of corporate internet solutions. Then you can keep a log of whom is browsing to what sites.

Sorry, I don't know enough of any particular method/vendor to say "This is the one for you". But there should be a wide choice. Have a look at the 3com, CISCO sites for instance. Do a search engine search for FIREWALL, and email or phone people

Hey thanks guys I will do the registry changes.

Just install fortres from fortres.com. It is what schools use.
