How do I 'password protect' a phone so that users have to input a code to gain access to dial out.

You'd have to program up your AUB block, assign AUTH codes, change the NCOS and TGAR of the phone, if necessary. Check your outbound Rtes for the TARG. That's a start.

are you using auth codes? then make the ncos 0 and the cls fre.. use auth codes to reset the ncos and cls of every call.. use a time of day in bars to require as auth code just after hours..

I'm not using auth codes yet.

I have just 2 phones I want to set an auth code for...

Ext 2646 and ext 2391

(we have staff calling their home country from these phones)

If you block these phones, they will just use another phone.

Ace, thanks for the advice, I never thought of that.

These 2 phones are not in public view. All the other phones are and they'll be less likely to use the phone in front of managers.

Why not just block the country code in SPN? Then they cant go to any other phones and use them, no authcodes needed for anyone.

All phones at my compant are blocked by NCOS from dialing international except 5 phones and there NCOS is higher. No phone can dial a trunk access code using TARG/TGAR.

Kid:

If you aren't using Auth Codes, then use Electronic Lock.
