Is there any way of limiting the ram used by impromptu? any helpwould be really aprreciated

In the Query Processing section on the Client/Server tab under UserProfiles there are three options to choose from. Limited Local Processing will do as much processing as possible on the database server rather than the machine that Impromptu is loaded on. You really wouldn't want to select Database Only because Impromptu specific functions will not work.

If you're concerned about performance you might want to analyze the joins in your catalog to ensure that you don't have any loop joins.

Thakns very much for your help. I was actually thinking of even more specific than this though. Imp is taking up about 1.5 gig of ram, and leaving sql with 500 mg. the system is then slowly grinding to a halt. arrghh.
