I am working on a project in Excel 97 and I have hit a stumbling block. Let's say I have a column of information in column A that ends at row 27 and column B has information to row 256. Is there a way to make excel 'jump' to a certain column/row combination (other than the column/row you are in)? I need this ability when there is no more data available in the column.

I would rather have the worksheet 'jump' to a specified cell than use the mouse or arrows to get to the top.

If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Do you mean jump to a certain cell BASED on some other cell? If you just want to immediately go to a cell, hit your F5 key and type in the cell name.

No actually it will be more like a form. The user will be entering data into pre-defined cells, when excel sees that the next cell is not defined I would like to 'jump' to the next cell that I hav defined. This next cell would be in another column / row combination. The 'F5' would work but the user may not know where the next cell they need is located.

Thanks,

If you unlock your defined cells ( Format/Cells/Protection/ and untick the Locked checkbox ), then do Tools/Protection/Protect Sheet, then using Tab will navigate from one defined area to the next when entering data.

See if that does what you want ( if you don't mind having protection switched on ).

Glenn.
