Hello
I started using Office 2010 on my new Win 7 PC recently.

I have a very simple question. When I call Help in Excel, the Help window always appears and stays on top. Of course it covers a good part of the page I'm working on, and the only way to get rid of it is by closing or minimizing it, which I may not want to do since I may want to refer to it later. Clicking on the Excel part of the screen to bring Excel to the top doesn't affect it at all.

Anyone have a solution?

Hi,

Is this really a big deal? I noticed this in 2007 also. So you MINIMIZE and when you want it later, you select HELP in the tray, and VOLA y'all; there it is, again!

I find it annoying. I don't remember it in Excel 2000. Maybe I just have to add it to my list of annoyances in Win 7 and Office 2010. Somehow I find that I have to move my mouse more and click it more times these days. Is this supposed to be progress?

In 2007, there is a little thumb tack at the top of the help screen.

If you hover over it, it will say "Keep On Top".

Click on it and it will say "Not On Top".

anotherhiggins, thanks a lot. The thumb tack is in 2010 as well. That was very helpful.

John,

[thumbsup] for taking this tack! [purple]==> *[/purple]

Tried right clicking the help window - nothing in the content menu says "hide" or anything like it. The thumb tack trick works, though.
