I have a single windows 2k domain. All my servers are running win2k server. But half of the users have windows 2k or xp and the other half have windows NT.

Group policy is running fine on the 2000 and XP machines. How do I get it to work on the NT 4.0 workstations?

You can't. Windows NT does not process GPO's. It only understands Windows NT domain style security policies.

There is one solution...

Upgrade! :)

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

I thought I read somewhere that there was some way to get the PDC emulator to act like NT domain security policy.

Yes, but you still implement it the same way you did in a Windows NT domain using a policy file stored on the Netlogon share.

So can I do that even if I have no NT servers?

Yes, you can. You should make a policy file for WinNT machines. Run Policy editor (poledit.exe) on one of your WinNT workstations, load common.adm and winnt.adm templates (you can find them on WinNT computer in \winnt\inf folder), make new policy, configure for your needs and save as ntconfig.pol on PDC emulator netlogon share.
