How do I get the dumb terminal working again?

I wanted to access an option 11 switch from the LAN that had a dumb terminal hooked to it. The dumb terminal worked fine.

I took the dumb terminal off and hooked a cable from an AUX port on a Cisco router to the 25 pin connector that was hooked to the dumb terminal. Reverse telnet from this worked fine for about 2 hours.

I tried to reverse telnet about 8 hours later and there is no response (blank screen). When I put the dumb terminal back on I get the same thing. Any idea what it takes to reset the connection?
