OK, thanks!. Now, for a new question. I have created an image in photoshop but it is a raster image not a vector image, can I convert raster images to vector. I will want to enlarge my image to print the size of a billboard, but the image was made at 1024*768 at 100 DPI. So can I convert this to vector so as to enlarge it? (I'm thinking the answer is no.)You can convert vector to raster though can't you?
Thanks again!

You can export your vector artwork at any size/resolution you want, but as you suspect you cant go the other way... easily. With a closer study of vectors you'll find that you can simulate almost any photoshop effect with vectors, espesially since AI now has pdf based effects like drop shadows and transparency. I wont even get into how friggin cool the gradient mesh tool is. There are some samples of my work at
goto the portfolio and look for the stuff by j stransky. Every single piece there was done using only a scan placed in illustrator. So, to answer your question, yes, you just have to rebuild it. Your biggest help however is going to come from Adobe Streamline. If you have a clean black line scan and you run it through Streamline it will "OCR" it and create vectors that you can save to .ai. The accuracy and quality of the shapes created is amazing and has to be seen to be believed. There is a line drawing of a knight in a suit of armour on one of the Excalibur Hotel/Casino's billboards that I scanned and streamlined off of one of their coupons. Hi, Can anyone please help me out here? How do i embed text and graohics in illustrator 10? I have saved the file as an EPS file but can't get the images and text to save as embedded. So that when i try to open up my artwork again, it loses the fonts and has to substitute them for some other TT font, instead of the type 1 fonts i want. Please help
