I made the stupid mistake of downloading those cute emoticons *sick* ..but now i'm stuck with ad pop-ups..so after deleting the program i scan my pc for adware files however my Norton systemworks anti-virus
cannot get rid of them..so i tried manually but NO can do!!!!!!!
any help would be appreciated ThanX !!Angel

If it is adware then I would run the usual bunch of programs, SpyBot Search & Destroy, CWShredder, SpyKiller, and if it is still there then run HijackThis and post your scan log in the Virus/Spyware forum.

Hope that helps.

Hi guys thank u so much for replying to my message..:)

now dyarwood I could have downloaded the SpyBot.. however since i had two options ..I choosed the easiest one..i clicked on Mike's link n voilà my problem was resolved .. now since both of u were so kind to give me the solution to my annoying problem.. i'm giving each one of u a star!! again thank u both! have a great weekend!! Angel :)

Hi dyarwood..my natural curiosity got the best of me so i decided to download SpyBot ..guess what? i had an extra 32 adware files!!!!!!!!! unbeilevable!!!!! anyhow SpyBot took care of that!! Thanx again!!

Spybot will find most of it. I usually have a whole cocktail of them,

Spybot
CWShredder
Ad-aware
HijackThis
PestPatrol

Some of these find things the others don't so always good to have a good range.

A word of warning with HIjackThis. Some of the stuff it finds is meant to be there so the best thing to do is save the log and post in the Virus/Spyware forum.

I realise this is a norton forum but I think its good information.

PS thanks for the star.

Also too, if Spybot-Search-And-Destroy found spyware related files,
then you should probably run Ad-aware6 too.
It's been my experience that neither spybot nor ad-aware
by themselves find everything. Running both should do the trick.
When you install ad-aware6, be sure to 'check for updates'
as the download isn't very up-todate.

cheers.
