How do I get PC's/server to register in DNS?

H, how do I get the PC's and Servers to populate the DNS database?

If you're using DHCP, then you can configure the dhcp server to register for you. make sure your forward and reverse lookup zones are properly configured.

Well I have upgraded our PDC and the DNS was created for me through the upgrade wizard.

The forward lookup zone just displays our domain name uk.microsoft.local and there is nothing setup in the reverse, what do I need to do?

In the properties for both your forward and reverse zones, be sure that Dynamic Updates are enabled (on mine the setting is "Nonsecure and secure&quot. If your clients are using DHCP, then DHCP can be configured to update DNS. If your clients have static addresses, then Windows 2000/2003/Windows XP will update DNS; Windows 9x can not update DNS records.
