Hi,

I have a combobox displaying the ID and username. When selected I want the combobox to update the id and username fields in a table. I have manageed to get the id field to update by setting the control source to that field but can't get the username field to update??

I am quite new to access to please if possible keep answers simple.

Any ideas?

Your table design should not require both fields to be stored if the username can always be derived from the id.
Just store the id.
When you need the username create queries to join the tables or use DLookup() function to get the name.

If your combo box is displaying the id and you want it to display the username then set the width of the id column to 0. (What it displays doesn't have to be what it stores : sorry if you know all this)
