Ive got to format my hard drive, Im using windows XP pro but cant find out how to format the drive so I can re-install Xp tehn Partition my drive for Os and data saving, how much space is best for the OS partiion? pls help me....
Go into BIOS and make sure the first boot device is set to cd-rom.. Then, pop your XP cd into the cd-rom and re-boot your system. XP is self-booting and the options will allow you to partition, format and install...
As for size, make sure you have a couple of GB's at least. Then, make sure everything else you load goes to another partition INCLUDING programs or you will find yourself out of space and doing this all over again.
I'd suggest at least 4GB for XP (it usually takes up c. 1.5Gb immediately after install), if you're intending to install apps on second partition. If just data on second, and apps on first with o/s - obviously more.

If you download that program, Partition Magic, it has all of the Utilities you need to partition your hard drive and you can make partition magic disk. *WARNING* make sure you back everything up
