How do you force IE to display the dialog box that asks you wether you want to save or open a download. At the minute, there is one particualr download I am trying to save but its opening it automatically.

The "save target as" option doesnt work either, it only saves a HTML hyperlink. Also, there is no option to save the document once its open in IE.

I thought you held down shift while clicking the hyperlink but it doesnt seem to be working either.

Can anyone help me?

Current User Key:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions]

All Users/System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions]
Key: "AlwaysPromptWhenDownload"
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = disable restriction, 1 = enable restriction)

Set the value to "1".

Cant find those registry entries. What OS are u using? Im using WIN2000 and NT.

I have searched through the registry for anything that could resemble this but to no avail.

Thanks for your replies
