The Function you are attempting to run contains macros or content requires macro language support. When this software was installed, you (or your administrator) chose not to install the support macros or controls."

they give a read me file that tells you how to fix it, but it doesn't seem to be very helpful.

Sounds like they didn't install VBA:-

Either ask your administrator to re-install including VBA or (if you have Admin Authority) do it yourself from Start|Settings|Control Panel|Add & Remove Programs|Microsoft Office and follow the instructions

Rerun the Office installation, it'll give you the option of uninstalling or Repairing or Adding/Removing features. Choose Add/Remove features, and you should then see an option that says something like 'Choose advanced customisation of Apps' or maybe just 'Customise', and then hit that and look for VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), enable it and install.

You're welcome. You're likely to find VBA in the installation customisation under Office Tools, or Shared Tools or something like that, not just within one of the Apps.
