I have a dell print server and it has a static ip. i wanna be able to telnet into it, but i cant without the ip address.
Is there a utility or a command i could use to find out what the ip address of that mac address??

This will vary by OS, I will assume Windows

In a Command Prompt, ARP -a will show known IP addresses and MAC addresses for your machine

Angry IP Scanner can find all IP numbers in a given range.
If you are sure you are disconnected from the internet, you could use the range 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

install ethereal/wireshark and use this filter

eth.src == 00:11:22:aa:bb:cc

you put the print server mac in place of my sample

Who set the static IP address? Ask them. Both the other answers are more fun to do though.

The answer is "42"

Dear me.

Can't you just log into the Dell server, open a command prompt and type "IPCONFIG"?

Carlsberg don't run I.T departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.

nslookup servername...assuming a domain is set up w/ dns

I presume you mean a little print server plugged into the back of the printer? Or do you mean a pysical server with a server operating system on it like windows?

If its :little print server plugged into the back
When you switch on the Print server there should be a button to hold down to print a test/configuration page from the printer.

Or you could switch it off hold down the reset button switch it back on and bad a bing default settings then you can set it up the way you like.

You could just do that.
