Greetings all,
Here at my work we are using Exchange2000 and the boss wants to be able to check his email while he is on the road, I am uncertain as to how to set this up in Exchange, can you give me some tips and set me in the right direction.

Windows Server2000
Exchange 2000
Behind a SonicWall 4060

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply,
I was not aware that Outlook Web Access was available with Exchange 2000, I always thought you had to have the Small Business Edition. Anyway how would I enable OWA?

As 58Sniper pointed out, you should be able to test internally already. To get it to work from the outside depends on how your network is setup. Not sure of your router/firewall config, but basically, you'll need to associate your mail server with a public IP and open up port 80 to the mail server.

Hello everyone,

sorry to jump in...
make sure that your boss is using a clean machine to do so...not some public internet coffee shop
OWA is just as bad considering all the keyloggers.spyware ets..so the SSL gets stipped really quick and you are back to clear text passwords floating arrond...just as bad as pop. Afterall, you are talking about your boss

IF...you have cisco router handy look into VPN clientless access.
Their new java based client will add up to 240bit encription along with builtin keylogger scanner that also clears your web sessions, temp files etc. on logff. Best of all exchange never gets opened to public. You can use the cisco 'client' to build your links to internal services...such as exchange...file servers...etc.
anyhow, perhaps something to consider down the line...
here is some more info:

All the best!

Thanks for the replies,
And yes I can access OWA within our domain but exactly how would I associate it with our mail server and our public IP?
Thanks.
