On my EC500, caller ID works and I receive my extension as the CID, however if I dial directly from my phone to an outside line, there is not CID (appears as private or '0'). None of our phones will provie their CID. Hope that is enough details ...

Thank you for any help you can provide!!

If you are using ISDN trunks you can control the number that is sent. Do 'change public-unknown' and enter the information that you want sent.

Thank you - I have been able to assign a number to all numbers on a given trunk, however I am trying to allow the caller to display for individual numbers
(i.e., 123-456-xxxx, where xxxx=the extension of the employee).

Thanks again!!

The 'change public-unknown' command does exactly what you are trying to do.

The fields are filled in like this:

change public-unknown-numbering 6 Page 1 of 2
NUMBERING - PUBLIC/UNKNOWN FORMAT
Total
Ext Ext Trk CPN CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len
Total Administered: 4
4 1 123456 10 Maximum Entries: 9999

The Ext Len is the length of your extensions. Usually 4 or 5. The Ext Code is the fist digits of your extensions. If your extensions are all 12xx you would put in 1 or 12. Leave the Trk Grp(s) blank so that these settings will apply to all trunk groups. The CPN prefix is the area code and exchange (in North America) you want to tack on to the front of your extension, and the CPN LEN is the total length of the full caller ID number you want to send. (usually 10 digits in North America.)

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)
