I created a MS Word document that contain the directions for using a MS Access DB I developed. On my menu I would like to create a select button to open the MS Word Document. I do not want the document placed on a server somewhere that will be accessed. I want the actual Word document to be embedded in my Access DB. What are my options or how can this be done.

Thanks!

Create a table in Access with a field of type OLE Object. SAve the table and then open it in Datasheet view. Put your cursor in the OLE Object field, then click Insert, Object from the menu.

You might also want to create an AutoNumber field in the table and make it the primary key, so that you can easily reference the record in your table that contains the Word doc.

I don't think this is an elegant solution, but it would work.

mp9 - Thanks for the info. I was able to do what you said in your response. If you double-click in the table on OLE the User Guide opens. How can I setup a macro to open this document?
