It's just the same as any word processor, press Return/Enter and it will goto the next line.

Hi,
That means that your leading is set very low or at 0. When you're typing press Ctrl+T to get the character palette to open, then highlight all your text and then look at the character palette. There is the font and next to it might say regular or bold or italic etc, directly below that is the place where you set the leading (the space vertically between lines) set that to AUTO or an appropriate number that works for you.
