How do I disable vlan's 1002-1005 on my Catalyst Switches?

You don't say what model of Catalyst. I will assume CATOS.

The nearest thing I can think you can do is to suspend the VLANs in your VTP domain. You can do this by entering the following command on a VTP server:

set vlan 1002-1005 state suspend

I don't think you can, because those VLAN's are reserved for interswitch management and information sharing..

don't quote me on that.

As far as I remember you don't have to close them, you only have to change the ip address to the one you want to be the management vlan.

Regards

It is CatOS, I tried the command and it

It was a CatOS, I tried the command and it gave the message

'Cannot change the state of the default vlan 1002 VTP V2 mode will have to be enabled in order for tr vlans to work properly, configure this vlan anyway?'

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Perhaps, try the command "sh conf" to see the lines in which theses VLANs are configured, then try the command in this lines changing enable in disable ??
