I'm fairly new to the Nortel system so please bear with me. I copied the phone programming from "x" phone to phones "y" and "z". Now all three phones are ringing when anyone calls the direct external number for phone "x". How do I disable this feature or reprogram the phone to not ring any numbers but it's own?

It sounds like the line assignments were copied over, which means there's probably outside lines programmed onto your new sets, which may not be what you want.

Do a Feature #0 and press the buttons on the phone, and it will tell you what they were programmed to. If you've copied the button programming and didn't mean to it will have to be reprogrammed.

If you just want to silence them, go into the config (Feature **266344), look up the set you want to change, and go to Line Access->Line Assignment. Here you'll have to look up the outside lines and change them from Ring or Appear&Ring to Appear Only perhaps (depending on your configuration.)

Thanks Danomac. I was looking there the whole time but was unsure of what needed to be changed. I changed the Line Assignment for phones "y" and "z" to unassigned and they are no longer ringing when people call phone "z" direct number.

Keep in mind that if each phone has Line buttons (Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, etc), you may want to set it to "Appear Only" so that it will show the lines that are in use.

Whoops, ignore that last comment. I need more coffee.
